Our story
Premiere Irrigation & Lighting is family owned and operated by Gene Beckmann. The Beckmann family set its roots in the St. Louis area green industry in 1910 when Beckmann Brothers Nursery was established in Olivette, MO. In the 1970s, Beckmann Turf & Irrigation Supply was established in Chesterfield, MO and was the catalyst of the irrigation industry for the next 25 years.
Gene joined the family business in Chesterfield, MO in 1989 after a few years as an irrigation technician. He ran the Irrigation Service department at Beckmann Turf & Irrigation Supply for the next seven years before deciding to get into the contracting business.
For 15 years, Gene helped grow and operate two of the largest irrigation installation and service companies in St. Louis and St. Charles County.
